BECKY SUTCLIFFE
My dad Chris Sutcliffe was a groundhog and I was born in 1976 when he was playing. My grandparents Ida and Norman ran the Bradshaw Tavern. I miss them a lot. My memories are vague but I do recall as a very small child being allowed in the baths in the tavern with the players. I remember they seemed massive to me at the time and everyone was so happy. The air always filled with song, laughter and banter. I know my dad loves talking about the matches he played and the pals he played with. I am very much looking forward to being able to hear more and more so I can pass these memories on to my daughter (age 8) so they don’t get lost in time. Becky x
